what about you talking? m14 can be selected to semi or auto :DDD iv fired with it irl. P.S. cod is all about killing in frenzy and getting streak, and bc2 is all about making tactics and wont be selfish and help to team ^^ i love it btw

The M1 Garand was an eight round rifle, which was semi-automatic and loaded with a stripper "en bloc" clip. The M14 was a twenty round rifle, and could be fully automatic and was loaded with a magazine. Big, big differences, my friend.

  4. @partisan49 only modern m14 rifles are semi. in vietnam and every other conflict before that that used the m14 they were full auto. but brought down to semi auto because full auto had too much recoil. the m14 as a modern weapon is known as a "battle rifle" or "designated marksman rifle". somewhere inbetween assault and sniper rifle status. in all technicalities it was always a "selective fire weapon" which means that you can switch between semi and full.

The m1 entered service in 1936. As stated earlier all an m14 is is an m1 garand with full auto, chambered in .308, and has a magazine. Everything else is almost exactly the same. All you are doing is repeating things I've already said; of course I know the new DMR variants are semi auto. I don't need a history lesson on anything, especially from someone who "looked it up after seeing it in BC2". Stop trying to dick measure; you'll fall short.

How about no. If you want to go with what was designed first it would be the m14, as all it really is is an improved m1 garand with a magazine. Both the m14 and the ak47 utilize a gas piston recoil system, only the m14 is more efficient; as it has a higher rate of fire and everything fits together smoother. The m16a2 was given a three round burst because the mentality in vietnam had become that of spray and pray with the m16a1. By the way the m14 is back, and is here to stay.
